This is the fifth book in the perfection series or the Mimi series as I call it. I have to say that I really like this series and would read it again. This story puts in just as much emotion in it as all the other books.
This one gives the back story of Justin Sever who ends up being with Mimi at the end of the last book. It shows how he became friends with Vance and the other members of the gang. It also goes into the women that he fell in love with and ended up getting hurt. It shows how he evolved from a small kid getting picked on at school to the person he is when Mimi meets him.
I think my favorite part is when you find out what really happened to his girlfriend Elise. How she went from the love of his life to being addicted to drugs. As you know from the last books Justin lightly touches on that Elise became addicted to drugs and dies but you never really find out how it happened. This went into more detail and explained what happened and how she got addicted and passed away and how if effected him.
I recommend this book for the people that have read the perfection series and people who love a good romance novels. I also recommend this series for anyone who is looking for a good series to read.
I will put a link to this book and to the books of the series as well.

The Angel of Darkness by Caleb Carr book review
This book is the sequel to The Alienist. It reunites the original characters with a different type of case to solve. Like the other book it is told from the first person perspective but not from Mr. Moore this time. It is from the point of view of young Stevie.
Like I was saying this one is being told from the perspective of Stevie. It starts out with an older Stevie talking about a bet he made with Mr. Moore about who could write what happened better. It then goes to a flashback of what happened. It is based around the kidnapping of a young girl child that turns into the investigation of a woman who used to be a nurse in a hospital where a lot of babies died on her watch. They end up finding a lot about her and bringing up the subject of women who kill children which in the time the book takes place in is unheard of.
My favorite part of the book is when they go to the suspects family home where she grew up and learned about what she was like growing up. They also learn about what happened to her first child and you hear Dr. Kreizler start making his analysis of her. That I thought was very interesting and intriguing.
I recommend this book for those people who love psychological thrillers and mysteries. If you really like books that has a character that profiles what the killer or criminal is doing this is a nice book. Also if you like stories that take place in the late 19th to early 20 centuries I highly recommend this book to those people as well.
I will post a link to where you can get your own copy of the book on amazon below:

Just Perfection book by Heather Guimmond Book Review
This is the fourth book in the perfection series or what I call the Mimi series. It is still in the romance genre but has a way of keeping the reader engaged. It makes the reader want to read it till the very end.
It picks up where the third book left off. Mimi has just gotten out of rehab and has moved in with Justin. Justin now has a son from a fling he had in the second book and Mimi is helping Justin take care of him. Mimi starts having feelings again for Justin but it seems that Justin at the beginning doesn't feel that same way about her. Mimi is confused and hear broken but events always seem to bring them together again.
My favorite part of the book is actually her becoming mama bear to Justin's child and protecting him from one of Justin's girlfriends that Mimi walks in on abusing him. The way that she handled the situation and that Justin ended up siding with her made me feel and hope that they had a chance of getting together.
I highly recommend this book for anyone that wants a good romance and little thriller story. And let me tell you that this one was a real page turner for me.

Beautiful Imperfection Book Review
Warning there are spoilers.
This is the third book in the Mimi series. I have to say that this one was a real page turner for me. I had to constantly find out what was going happen next in the book and had to keep going until I was done. It was very well written and the characters are continually developing as the story progresses.
The story takes place after the plane crash in the second book. It tells from Mimi's point of the the pain that she was going through being in the hospital and then trying to get better but struggling with the pain and being dependent on pain medication. Her boyfriend James who is in the military is shipped out to a foreign country and Mimi misses him that she turns to the medication as a way to cope with it. She then finds out while visiting James that he has been unfaithful to her and crushed returned home. That is when her drug problems get worse and Mimi ends up putting herself in very dangerous situations. Her friend Justin tries to help her as best he can through all that has been going on with her.
My favorite part in the whole book is when Mimi finding out that James was cheating on her was able to stand up to him. She was able to tell him how she felt and that the relationship was over. I was secretly happy this happened because I have been sort of rooting for her and Justin to get together but I'm sure there will be a few that were hoping that it would work out and I was one of those at the end of the second book that was hoping that James and Mimi would work out.
I recommend this book to anyone that is really into the romance genre or if you are just in the mood for something that is different from what you normally read but doesn't go overboard with being too mushy. I love that this book doesn't have the overwhelming mushy on the romance and throws different situations that keep the story interesting and guessing what is going to happen next.

Ghost in the Machine by Patrick Carman
This book is a good young adult book that incorporates technology in with the reading experience. It is different from how you read other books. Throughout the book you are told to go to a website that has a password that you use that is in the book and you watch a short little video that goes along with the book. The person that made the book actually has actors in the videos act out what the main character is writing about in the book.
The book is more like a journal that is being written by a teenager named Ryan. Through out the book he is writing about a secret society called the Crossbones and about a building called the Dredge. The Dredge is being torn down but there are a lot of secrets that have happened on it and Ryan and his Friend Sarah are trying to figure it out. While trying to figure out the mystery of the Dredge they are chased by what they feel is the ghost of one of the workmen that died on the Dredge.
What I really liked about the book was that at certain times there would be a website that you would have to go to and a password that you would have to put in. After you put the password in it would show a short little video of actors playing the characters that Ryan is writing about in his journal. I love doing that and seeing how we are so into technology I love how the author incorporated it into the book.
I highly recommend this to any mystery fanatic, young adult book reader, and teenager that loves to read. I believe that with the reading and being able to go online and see the videos. I really like reading this book and look forward to more books following this type of way of keeping readers interested in books.

Fighting Perfection by Heather Guimond Review
This is the second book in what I am calling the Mimi series. It takes place 3 years after the ending of the first book. It starts out with what she has been up to the past 3 years since Vance's death.
The story starts with Mimi getting ready to go on a trip with some of her gal pals and Vance's friend Justin is helping getting everything into her car. She feels a very close friendship with Justin and Justin is wanting to make it more than a friendship which has Mimi with confused feelings. While on the trip with her friends she meets a man named James and starts seeing him.
Through out the book there are ups and downs with Mimi's feeling with the 2 men. She also starts going to school and meets a girl Dalia there. Dalia starts seeing Justin and then becomes obsessed with Mimi and his relationship and does everything she can to destroy it.
I really like this book just as much as I liked the first one. I don't really have any particular part that I liked but the whole book kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put it down until I knew what was going to happen next.
I am not much of a romance novel fan but this series I really like and look forward to reading the next book. I highly recommend this book to romance fans or to people that are looking for a good series that has romance but other elements as well.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child book review
This book is based off the Harry Potter series. This book is part of the fantasy genre and keeps to what the Harry Potter series is about. The story was written really well and you are able to follow along even if you haven't seen the actual play.
The story in this book takes place about 30 years after the battle with Voldemort and centers around Albus Potter. Albus is Harry's and Ginny's younger son who is trying to find where he belongs in the shadow of his famous father. Albus gets sorted into Slytherin house his first year at Hogwarts which shocks everyone. Albus becomes friend with Draco Malfoy's son Scorpius. They end up going on an adventure when the come in contact with Delphi. They find out a secret that Delphi has been keeping and try to stop the event from happening.
My favorite thing about the book is the relationship between Harry and Albus. They both don't know how to talk to each other but in the end find some connection. Albus I feel is a lot like his father growing up. Albus like Harry didn't know where he belonged and in the end finds out just who he is supposed to be.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes the Harry Potter series and fantasy books in general.

The Alienist by Caleb Carr
There are a bunch of murders going on in 19th century New York. Theodore Roosevelt puts together a team to help track down the killer. This is a time when forensics and forensic psychology were in there infancy. As they track down the killer they learn how to delve deep into a psychopaths minds.
I found this a very good read. It was a real page turner and keeps the reader wanting to read more. I have read this book a couple times and have loved it every time.

Shattered Perfection by Heather Guimond Review
Mimi meets a guy named Vance on a flight to New York to meet a friend. It was love at first sight and they get married shortly after. A year after they are married Mimi notices a change in Vance and cannot figure out why. It turns out that Vance is concealing a secret that will change their lives for ever. Mimi doesn't know if she can handle it.
This was written really well. I was happy for Mimi and then angry at Vance for being the way he was to her and then crying at the end. i love how the two main characters developed their relationship and even though it got hard and nasty they stayed together. I look forward to other works by this author.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling book review
This is the last book of the Harry Potter series. This takes place during Lord Voldemort's uprising. Harry and his friends must find the objects known as Horcruxes in order to stop Lord Voldemort. Harry must also make a very hard decision in order to protect everyone. Also friends that didn't want to fight must make very difficult decisions on hiding or fighting.
I really liked how this story came together. I loved how the main characters and some of the other characters evolved in this book. I love how the story flowed and kept wanting to continue reading till the very end. I highly recommend this book and series to anyone.
